直線導軌（linear slider）可分為：滾輪直線導軌，圓柱直線導軌，滾珠直線導軌，三種，是用來支撐和引導運動部件，按給定的方向做往復直線運動。依按摩擦性質而定，直線運動導軌可以分為滑動摩擦導軌、滾動摩擦導軌、彈性摩擦導軌、流體摩擦導軌等種類。

　　1、定義：直線導軌又稱線軌、滑軌、線性導軌、線性滑軌，用于直線往復運動場合，且可以承擔一定的扭矩，可在高負載的情況下實現高精度的直線運動。在大陸稱直線導軌，臺灣一般稱線性導軌，線性滑軌。2、分類：分為方形滾珠直線導軌，雙軸芯滾輪直線導軌，單軸芯直線導軌。3、作用：直線導軌運動的作用是用來支撐和引導運動部件，按給定的方向做往復直線運動。依按摩擦性質而定，直線運動導軌可以分為滑動摩擦導軌、滾動摩擦導軌、彈性摩擦導軌、流體摩擦導軌等種類。　直線軸承主要用在自動化機械上比較多,像德國進口的機床、折彎機、激光焊接機等等，當然直線軸承和直線軸是配套用的。像直線導軌主要是用在精度要求比較高的機械結構上，直線導軌的移動元件和固定元件之間不用中間介質，而用滾動鋼球。

　　4、自動調心能力：來自圓弧溝槽的DF(45-°45)°組合，在安裝的時候，即由鋼珠的彈性變形及接觸點的轉移，即使安裝面多少有些偏差，也能被線軌滑塊內部吸收，產生自動調心能力之效果而而得到高精度穩定的平滑運動。具有互換性由于對生產制造精度嚴格管控，直線導軌尺寸能維持在一定的水準內，且滑塊有保持器的設計以防止鋼珠脫落，因此部分系列精度具可互換性，客戶可依需要訂購導軌或滑塊，亦可分開儲存導軌及滑塊，以減少儲存空間。所有方向皆具有高剛性運用四列式圓弧溝槽，配合四列鋼珠等45度之接觸角度，讓鋼珠達到理想的兩點接觸構造，能承受來自上下和左右方向的負荷；在必要時更可施加預壓以提高剛性。5、工作原理：可以理解為是一種滾動導引，是由鋼珠在滑塊跟導軌之間無限滾動循環， 從而使負載平臺沿著導軌輕易的高精度線性運動，并將摩擦系數降平常傳統滑動導引的五十分之一，能輕易地達到很高的定位精度。滑塊跟導軌間末制單元設計，使線形導軌同時承受上下左右等各方向的負荷，的回流系統及精簡化的結構設計讓HIWIN的線性導軌有更平順且低噪音的運動。

Working principle: It can be understood as a rolling guide, which is an infinite rolling cycle of steel balls between the slider and the guide rail, so that the load platform can easily move linearly with high precision along the guide rail, and the friction coefficient is reduced to one fiftieth of the usual traditional sliding guide, which can easily achieve high positioning accuracy. The final unit design between the slider and the guide rail enables the linear guide rail to simultaneously bear loads in all directions, including up, down, left, and right.
